Potatoes and Paprika!

Au Revoir Kurt Vonnegut (1922-2007).

Listen: Thanks to everyone who came to the shows at Smooch in March. We had fun & trust that you all did too.

I stumbled across some cassette transfers that I made several years ago of material that was recorded way back in the New Brunswick Nineties! I was so broke back then it was like this: Buy a 10lb bag of potatoes, some salt and paprika and you can make it all taste like potatoes and paprika. Ah the Sandford Space. One night we were watching Putney Swope on the TV in the living room on a sweaty summer night with the doors open and fans churning away and for some reason the cops came.

1. Garden - The Moog Cookbook came out around 1996 and with a Crumar DS-2 in hand, I made a song that you can sing "In my garden, I see a rose, I pick it up..." to.

2. Bern - This is me on guitars, drums and synth. It is also the sound of recording with dbx noise reduction and not playing it back on the proper equipment. The compression sounds great.

3. Spirit Compact 5 - Akai AX50 (?) Rhodes and lots of time on my hands waiting for potatoes to boil.

4. Dirty Dub - Boss Dr. Rhythm, Boss Heavy Metal pedal, and a DOD Digital Delay pedal.

5. SQRT(RDMJ) - This was an improvisation recorded one lovely spring day with Rob DiPatri playing fretless (don't let it scare you!) bass and me on drums. It's rough around the edges in the fun, making discoveries kind of way.

Stay tuned for exclusive unreleased Movere Workshop tracks.

I'm off to .au for a couple weeks. Check Wilcoworld.net for a webcast from one of our shows down there, featuring photos taken by yours truly during our trip to Oz.

All the best,

Mikael
